Our last session for Alpha will be about Church. "I love my friends, and there is nothing more that I want then for them to know Jesus..." This session points us to Jesus then to community within the family of God.  "To know that God has a plan for my life, that changed my life because I was so lost without a purpose for my life. People need to have hope, people want God, they may not know it, but they really do..." This is but one testimony we will hear this week. Some of the youth have church homes, some do not. Please pray that they catch the vision and purpose for both themselves and their own families to be connected to church, to the body of Christ. Upper Canada YFC had the opportunity to attend a 2 day Alpha Champions training in Toronto this past week.  It was incredible to hear about how God is using this tool to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Churches in entire Cities are working together to bring Jesus to the lost through Alpha. Please continue to pray for Upper Canada YFC as we utilize this teaching tool to expand the kingdom of God. We continue to be in the local high school (SGDHS)on Wednesday at lunch hour. A few solid plans are forming, and I am excited to begin our first official "act" very soon! Please pray that "Sarah" has boldness in her invitation to other students, and that she is shown who to invite. God will expand her reach as we pray together. The advisory team for Upper Canada YFC will soon be looking at charitable status options, and what this looks like for the future. We will be inviting some new faces onto the board, and as this process unfolds, please pray for all of us to be united through the mind of Christ. God is already at the end of this long journey, we just need to follow the path he has chosen for us to get there. Wisdom and timing. There will be more funds to raise, and more knowledge to be learned. Please ask God if there is any part you can play as we move forward in Christ toward this goal. Thank You. The outline for the youth rally teaching has gone out to over 10 churches in the Upper Canada region. Please pray for those writing this teaching that God is very clear about how and what to write. Please pray that local churches are excited to participate, and that God goes before as he always has to prepare the youth to hear the message about Jesus and social media. June 10, 2016 is the date for the Rally, we need a complete covering for this time together. Continue to pray for wisdom leading up to this for all involved.      It has been so amazing to watch the town of Prescott come alive through the Spirit of God. So many things happen day to day... and faith is growing as God makes all things new. When I was a teen we believed nothing good could come from Prescott, and the reputation it held was horrific. No longer will people speak of Prescott as a place of monstrosities, but of healing and of lives renewed because of the Power of our great and mighty God. He will redeem all things in His time, and daily I am caught off guard, stunned and surprised with all that he has done and continues to do. We are desperate to see God move, and He is faithful to do more than we could ever dream of or imagine. Be encouraged brothers and sisters, God has heard our cry, and is indeed alive.  In the Love and Spirit of a God who loves us beyond human understanding, Johanna   A beautiful display of God's story...

Tuesday night we will be talking about Healing. Please pray for an understanding of God's sovereignty, and for the youth to know they are loved regardless of weather or not God heals them or those around them. For the leaders, pray for wisdom. This needs to presented and discussed well. "Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. .." (Matthew 9:35-36) Watch Episode 11: Healing, Does God still Heal today?

Wednesday and Thursday this week I (Johanna) will be at the Alpha Champions Retreat in Toronto. I am excited to work beside this organization, learning how to assist and help facilitate other leaders running Alpha in the Upper Canada region. The opportunity and timing of this retreat was completely from God, and I'm so excited to follow His lead on it! Please pray for my family as I will be away from them overnight, and for leading and revelation while I am away. The Prescott public outdoor amphitheater has been booked, and the invitations have been sent. June 10 Upper Canada YFC, with Centennial Road Church will be hosting our first Youth Rally.  There will be 5 weeks of teaching leading up to this gathering available for all youth groups to use.  Youth pastors involved have been given the teaching format, and invited to write a lesson to share with us all. The "theme" surround this event is based on the way youth interact with social media, and therefore one another.  Proverbs 18:21 will be the main focus, with each letter in the word L I F E challenging them to live their lives in a way that is set apart and different from the world. This week at our Youth Answer night we will be doing an introduction to the Holy Spirit. "You cant talk about the Holy Spirit without talking about God the Father, and God the Son". We will continue with the "Random Acts" group on Wednesday at South Grenville District High school. I am in the process of asking some local businesses if they would like to support this group. Also pray for Sarah, the teen helping us engage youth in the high school. The Alpha Youth Holy Spirit weekend is finally upon us!  Friday April 8 to Saturday April 9we will have 35-40 people gathering to learn more about the Holy Spirit. Part of this group will consist of youth in Prescott, another part will be youth from Athens. Our final planning meeting will be on Thursday April 7.  Please continue to pray as you have been in regards to planning. Each day leading up to the weekend (for those of you in the regular prayer team) I will send a group of names to you with the request you keep them in your heart and mind for that day. I will specify if the names are youth or volunteers.  God is at work in this leaders life, and I am excited to see what he will be up to during this time.  To Pray more specifically about the curriculum we will be learning, feel free to watch the Alpha video's below.  Youth Alpha: Spirit, Who is the Spirit, and what does He do? Youth Alpha: Fill, How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit? On June 3, 2016 we are planning on working with churches in the Upper Canada region to do a Youth Rally at the outdoor amphitheater in Prescott. The theme for this Rally will be based on Proverbs 8:21:  "Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose." We have partnered with Pastor Tim Conrad from Centennial Road Church and have invited youth pastors from Smiths Falls to Cornwall to participate. This Rally will include a 5 lessons written by various youth pastors leading up to this time together. It has been difficult to get some of the pastors interested in what we are planning. Pray on this with us. God has given us clear vision to call the youth into a more God glorifying way to interact with Social media. Impact on this generation in this area could be immense. I would like to invite you to join me in a partial fast for the youth in regards to the Holy Spirit weekend. You can do this however you like, if you choose to participate. It is our hope that unbelief or lack of understanding may be lifted, and for the Spirit of Truth to deepen the wisdom in regards to the third part of God. Without prayer this ministry would simply be mans effort with temporal outcome. We want to see lives changed for the Kingdom of God.  Thank you for being at the front of the battle lines with me. Knowing you give all of these requests to our Lord in Prayer helps me to do what He has called me to do.
